On April 1 st , it was reported by the Russian newspaper, Novaya Gazeta, of the

disappearance of approximately 100 homosexual men in Chechnya, and that

their lives might be in great jeopardy.

The men are being held under shameful conditions in concentration camps

and are subjected to heinous abuse.

The newspaper has reported three men dead, and there is also a great

concern for a possibly larger number of casualties.

Authorities in Chechnya dismiss the news and are not investigating or taking

action against the crimes committed within their boundaries.
